The National Days are organised on an annual rotating basis at the various partner Institutions of the SST Programme. The first edition of the national days took place in Trento on 4 and 5 July 2023.

The 2024 edition will be hosted in L'Aquila and co-organized by GSSI and University of L'Aquila in collaboration with INFN-LNGS , Thales Alenia Space Italy and Fondazione Gran Sasso Tech.

The events are attended by all enrolled PhD students, members of the PhD Board, supervisors and co-supervisors, and representatives of the partner institutions, thus providing the students with the opportunity to meet and share their experience.

For the 2024 edition, besides talks by institutional representatives and invited guests, all the students are expected to share their research work by presenting a poster during the PhD days. An award will be assigned to the best two posters, as selected by a specific committee.

Visits to the underground Gran Sasso INFN laboratories and the Thales L'Aquila site, will also be part of the programme.
