General Information

The school, organised within the framework of the International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi”, will be held in the beautiful Villa Monastero at Varenna, on Lake Como.

Classes will be held for 7 hrs/day. A school webpage will be maintained and lecturers will be asked to post their presentations in advance, so that students can study them in due time.

The school is organised over 6 days, the first day starting on Friday (June 24) at 8.30am, and ending on Wednesday (June 29) at lunch time. Students are expected to arrive on Thursday, 23 June 2022.


Prerequisites

  • Admissions reserved to international PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers with a background in Astroparticle Physics and Astrophysics.
  • A good level of English is needed (B2).
  • Participants will be limited to 35 and selected on the basis of their CV and a reference letter.

Participation fee

  • Participation fee is € 500,00 (VAT included) and includes attendance, lunches, dinners and Proceedings.

  • Payment of fees will be due after acceptance and before the beginning of the School.

  • A price list of partner hotels will be provided to the participants.

  • Partial/full scholarships will be granted to deserving participants, SIF Members, who need financial help. Such requests must be specified and justified in the recommendation letter from your research group leader or professor, with an assessment of your qualifications and interest in participating in the Course.
