The neutrino mass hierarchy (NMH) is one of the presently open issues in
neutrino physics.
The JUNO experiment, whose installation is scheduled to finish within
2022, will takle this puzzle in 6 years of data taking, exploiting
electron anti-neutrinos produced by two nuclear power complexes located
in the GuangDong province of China Popular Republic.
In the first part of the seminar the state-of-the-art of neutrino
oscillations will be presented and the perspectives of JUNO and other
experiments about NMH discussed.
The design guide-lines of JUNO will be then explained and the detector
described.
Its physics potential beyond NMH will also be treated.
