Two-dimensional ideal fluids are an Hamiltonian system exhibiting spectacular dynamics at infinite times. This course will start presenting the Yudovich global well-posedness theorem for the incompressible Euler equations in two dimensions. Then, the Shnirelman theory of "maximally mixed equilibria" will be discussed. Although conceptually very sophisticated, this is only a small step towards a more adequate understanding of the complex long-time dynamics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YdEYumSSJ0&t=285s&ab_channel=TheodoreDimitriosDrivas.
