PDEs part II. Elementary topics in mathematical fluid dynamics

Description

In the first part of the course we will introduce the basic equations of fluid dynamics, namely the Euler and the Navier Stokes equations, their elementary derivation and the analysis of symmetries and conserved quantities. In the second part of the course we will prove the local well posedness of the Euler equations and, if time permits, we will discuss some blow-up criteria.
