Description

The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has provided continuous observations of the keV-GeV gamma-ray sky for more than a decade, discovering sources varying on timescales of milliseconds to years, opening up new source classes and counterparts to other astrophysical messengers. In this seminar, I will highlight some of the biggest discoveries of the Fermi mission utilizing data from both the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor and the Large Area Telescope. I will outline what the coming years may bring for Fermi, especially in context of new and upgraded multiwavelength and multimessenger observatories, and what might be next for gamma-ray surveyors.
