I will review the current status of gamma-ray astrophysics results in a multi-messenger context and present recent highlights from LHAASO and the work towards the implementation of the telescope array. I will also discuss my experience on realising a telescope with a SiPM-based camera and discuss future possible realisation of large size telescope cameras.
